BJP Leads in Assam Panchayat Elections
In the recently concluded Assam Panchayat Elections held on May 2 and 7, 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the dominant force, securing a commanding lead in the polls. The elections, which saw voting for over 26,000 local posts, witnessed an overwhelming voter turnout, signaling the public’s active participation in the democratic process.
The BJP's strong performance in Assam continues to underline its political dominance in the northeastern state. With the Indian National Congress (INC) and other regional parties trailing behind, the BJP’s success can be attributed to its extensive grassroots outreach and welfare programs targeted at rural populations.
